In some circumstances the school can request a ‘Clerical Check’ or a ‘Marking Review’ following the certification of SQA results in August. There is a strict criteria for this and the request for these services can only come from the school.
In general terms, Bucksburn Academy will submit a request when the assessment evidence is consistent and points to an award at least two bands above the final award.
It must be clearly understood that grades can go up, stay the same or go down following a Marking Review or Clerical Check. Consequently, written consent is required from the candidate and parent to show an understanding of this.
For most pupils the deadline for this process is the 28th of August. However if the candidate’s results have a direct impact upon entry to College or University, we can submit a Priority Marking request.
In order for us to submit this request in time for the SQA deadline on the 17th August (the Friday before schools return from the Summer Break), you must contact the school by Friday 10 August.
You can do this by emailing email@example.com. It must be noted that the criteria above must be met before the school considers a request.
If you require further information, please contact me at the school.
