Easter 2016

Dear Parent/Carer,

GeoBus is an outreach project run by the University of St Andrews. We visit schools across Scotland to support Earth Science teaching. This June we are offering a 4 day Geology Field Camp for pupils looking to further their knowledge of earth science and who wish to take part in a more focused, comprehensive training opportunity.

The field course which will begin at 4pm in St Andrews on Tuesday 28th June and finish at Arthurs Seat in Edinburgh on Friday 1st July at 2:30pm. Participants are expected to make their own way to and from the field course. If the cost of travel is more than £30.00 travel bursaries are available. To find out more please contact Kathryn Roper, . A minibus will be provided on the final day and students will have the option to travel back via Edinburgh Waverly or St Andrews.

The GeoBus Field Camp is an excellent opportunity for pupils to gain new field skills, expand their geology knowledge, meet new people and have a taster of university life. Field work will be conducted at a range of localities to provide a diversity of rock types, and different structural settings and geological histories.

This amazing opportunity will cost £100 per participant and includes accommodation, breakfast, lunch, dinner, field equipment, and training from lecturers at the University of St Andrews. Participants must be 16 years or over and have a keen interest in Geology.
