Bucksburn Academy Careers Fair – Thursday 25th February 2016 – 5pm

Dear Parent / Carer

Bucksburn Academy Careers Fair – Thursday 25th February 2016 – 5pm

We would like to invite you and your children to the parent council organised  Bucksburn Academy Careers Fair which will take place on the above date. Building on the success of previous years this year promises to be bigger and better. We are now approaching 50 confirmed exhibitors which we think makes this the biggest school careers event in the North East.

This year we will have an even wider range of exhibitors with employers covering sectors such as Finance, Oil and Gas, Education, Hospitality, ICT, Public Sector, Caring, Retail, Health Care, Armed and Emergency Services, Sport and Leisure, Vehicle maintenance  and much more. Also on hand will be a wide range of Higher and Further education providers as well as a number of training organisations.

This is a fantastic opportunity for all of our pupils and parents to come along and find out more about the careers and learning opportunities that are available – whether it be to find some inspiration and get more information about potential career ideas, find out about entry qualifications and routes into different jobs and courses or support subject choice decisions.

This year we will have a special focus on skills employers, training providers and further education providers are looking for in potential recruits. We want our pupils to think about their own individual skill sets and strengths and relate that to the different career pathways that these may open up. During the event we will be running a skills match competition for our S1-S3 pupils who attend with a chance for them to win £50 of Amazon vouchers donated by the Parent Council.

We hope as many of our pupils in every year group and our parents and carers take the opportunity to come along and make the most of this great event. See you there!
