Three pupils from Bucksburn Academy competed against three pupils from Robert Gordon’s College in the regional heat of this Science Debating Competition.

The premise of this balloon debate is that pupils had to speak for five minutes as to why their endangered species should be the only animal not to be thrown from a hot air balloon that is rapidly falling. Raymond Aina argued for the Amur leopard, Lucy Frenz for the monarch butterfly and Laura Booth won the debate with the leatherback turtle.

Huge congratulations to Laura who now gets to debate in the final in Edinburgh on the 30th May.
