After a long days travelling we arrived safely in Boston to very cold temperatures! Minus 17c really is as cold as it sounds and so we were glad to get into the heat of the bus.
We woke early (most of us!) and headed to breakfast. Very, very American with waffles, bacon and maple syrup to be had. We packed up and headed to the slopes on an original yellow school bus!
On arrival, we were met with ridiculously cold temperatures but carried on to set our skis and boots up. We split into all of our groups, with 6 instructors to our 33 skiers- a great ratio. It was so cold that we could only manage a maximum of 3 runs before a warming hot chocolate which was a bonus for all!! The views today were incredible and we could see both Mount Washington and lake Winnapesaukee very clearly covered in snow and ice.
After skiing we were welcomed back to the hotel and relaxed before dinner. A truly American meal of burgers and hot dogs were served before we enjoyed a quiz put together by our Welsh rep Dan. Blair’s team won, though we’re not sure how fair things were!
Everyone is having a great time and we’re looking forward to practicing our skiing some more tomorrow!
